Dante's Inferno
The most popular night club in Seattle, Dante's Inferno is a 9-story building based loosely on The Divine Comedy and owned by Dante Passini. Visitors enter via an elevator which takes them to the building's top floor, then descend via the spiral staircase that wraps around the outside of the building. The top seven floors are themed based on each of the Seven Deadly Sins and feature transparex dance floors, while the bottom floors, Purgatory and Hell, are invitation-only clubs. The floors are detailed below, ordered from top to bottom.
Floors
Envy
Envy technically spans two floors: the club's highest dance floor, and the covered transparex roof above it where “envious” guests wait to be admitted into the club. The dance floor plays top 40 hits and, as with every floor of the club, has a full-service bar.
Wrath
Wrath is a giant mosh pit, with the volume always cranked as loud as possible. This floor also features a stage where live acts, ranging from heavy metal to EDM, regularly perform. Johnny Nuclear and the Meltdowns, an industrial pop metal band, will be playing on the night of the job.
Gluttony
The outer ring of this floor is a decadent buffet of everything from everyday soy-based foods to rare delicacies such as real steak. Entrance to the buffet area is ¥299 — or free if you manage to eat more than 5% of your body weight before you leave.
Pride
One of the largest gay bars in Seattle. Though homosexuality is uncontroversial in most of the modern world, it is still considered taboo among the conservative Japanacorps and their subsidiaries. As a result, this floor tends to be heavily populated by sararimen escaping from workplace repression (or just out of curiosity at something they view as a cultural oddity).
Sloth
The quietest floor in the Inferno, Sloth is a combination simsense parlor and “heaphone” disco. No speaker system pumps music into this floor. Instead, guests can rent a trode set which immerses them in the sounds, sights, and sensations of one of 3 different broadcasts, ranging from the psychedelic to the soporific.
Greed
Adorned in gold and marble, Greed's dance floor plays swing and big-band classics and is ringed by a casino. Electronic blackjack, roulette, and slot machines are available. Poker tables are available for patrons looking for a metahuman opponent, though patrons play against each other rather than the house. Though the club officially assumes no responsibility for the fairness of games played here, Greed's bouncers are trained in assensing magic and detecting various forms of electronic interference.
Lust
The lowest publicly-available floor of Dante's Inferno, Lust's dance floor is surrounded by pole dancers and strippers of every gender, race, and body type imaginable. Dante maintains a hands-off policy for metahuman staff, but frisky patrons can visit the (reasonably) lifelike FetishBots harbored in Lust's private rooms, which cater to a wide variety of preferences.
Purgatory & Hell
Both floors are reserved for those rich or famous enough to be personally invited by Dante himself — or to rent a floor out for themselves, in which case guests are provided with a comprehensive security package to ensure their privacy. Our mysterious buyer has rented out Hell, which is actually the club's basement. Security systems for Purgatory and Hell are separated from the rest of the club in order to accommodate renters' privacy needs.
Other Notes
- Customers can also join the club from the Matrix, where customers can enjoy a menu of simsense beverages (and food in Gluttony). Matrix visitors are able to intermingle with physical visitors thanks to trideo projectors throughout the club.
- Each floor has a back area off to one side containing storage, break rooms, and security equipment/monitoring rooms. Here, staff can move around the building much more easily using cargo elevators.
